Hello and welcome to my new blog. This is 7562 InfoSec Blog by James Sullivan (Sully). A few times a week I’ll post on whatever’s actually moving in the threat landscape — current incidents, notable vulnerabilities, and occasionally a look back at attacks that shaped how we defend today. No vendor marketing, no hype cycles. Just what matters to practitioners.

I am a cybersecurity practitioner and not just a researcher. I work in the industry and have for more than a decade. I’ve worked across all cyber domains at some point and extensively in vulnerability management and incident response. I take a defender’s view on cybersecurity, risk reduction and business enablement. Keeping up is hard especially with the new AI discovered vulnerabilities that is starting to come in. In legacy financial services, where a bulk of my experience is from, keeping up with patching was difficult before and only getting harder. I’ll share my views and opinions and what I see “in the trenches”.

Also if you are interested I have two other sites I built that agragate and give a view into the current AI landscape. Nothing fancy but one focuses on the positive side of AI, zeroslop.net and one breaks down and highlights all the extra slop out there, slopreport.net. Yes, they are python scapers with some AI summaries, so adding to the slop. 😁
